The organiser HKTDC understand that the spread of H1N1 in many parts of the world is a great concern to the public, but travel and business activities are as usual in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Book Fair 2009 will be held from 22-28 July at the HKCEC as scheduled.
To ensure a healthy environment during the fair, we will keep a close eye on the situation and consult with the Department of Health and healthcare professionals throughout the fair. The following health protection measures will be implemented on-site:
On-site Health Protection Measures
  • Face masks will be provided to exhibitors and visitors upon request at the Fair Management Offices, Information Centre, Family Corner, First Aid Posts and Medical Posts*.
  • Touch-free dispensers of alcohol-based hand gel will be set up at the fairground.
  • On-site medical professionals* will be on-duty to provide assistance and medical services to exhibitors and visitors with influenza-like symptoms.
    * Medical Posts and First Aid Posts locate at Hall 1E concourse, Hall 3F&G concourse, Grand Foyer, Room G103 and G306.

  • Keep hands clean and wash hands properly. Alcohol-based hand gel is also effective when hands are not visibly soiled.
  • Avoid touching mouth, nose or eyes.
  • Wash hands with liquid soup promptly if they are dirtied by respiratory secretions, e.g. after sneezing or coughing.
  • Cover month and nose when sneezing or coughing.
  • Do not spit. Always wrap nasal and mouth discharges with tissue paper, and dispose of tissue paper properly in a rubbish bin with a lid.
  • Wear a mask when influenza-like symptoms develop. Consult a doctor or visit on-site medical professionals promptly.
  • Measure your body temperature before you come to the fair. If you have high fever or influenza-like symptoms, stay home and do not attend the fair.
